If Nikol Pashinyan stays in power until 2020, this will mean that the Armenian people have chosen the path to perdition. This is what leader of the Union for National Self-Determination political party Paruyr Hayrikyan told journalists today.

According to him, the Electoral Code and Constitution adopted during the term of office of Serzh Sargsyan, who was rejected by the people, couldn’t lead to the formation of a legitimate government.

“The action plan of Nikol Pashinyan’s cabinet stated that the current Electoral Code can’t help form a legitimate government. Nikol Pashinyan used to say the Electoral Code couldn’t help form a legitimate parliament, but now he says the parliament is elected by the people. He should at least apologize for his lies,” he said.

According to Paruyr Hayrikyan, the government is talking about the need for making amendments to the Constitution in 2020, but it should have done that a long time ago.

“Pashinyan said a commission has to be set up for amendments to the Constitution in 2020, but that commission should have been set up a long time ago. Does Pashinyan think he will stay in power with his lies until 2020? If he stays in power until 2020, this will mean that the Armenian people have chosen the path to perdition,” Hayrikyan said in outrage.
