The Amulsar gold mine definitely has to be exploited since it will be good for the country’s economy. This is what one of the residents of Gorayk village said during a meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

According to him, Armenia is technically at war and needs to add funds to the budget. “We are young people in need of jobs. If the environmental risks are manageable, let the mine be exploited. If people say the mine must not be exploited, should we pack up and leave the country?” the resident of Gorayk said.

Another resident said Lydian Armenia is the only organization that offered to excavate any historical or cultural value in the area before the mine is exploited.
