The awards ceremony of the first Armenian International Photo Fest took place at Dvin Music Hall on August 26.
More than 500 participants from 16 countries have submitted their works for the festival, and three prizes were awarded.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Jun Yamada, representatives of other diplomatic missions and guests.
The Tovmasyan Charity Foundation, digital partner of the event all.me and Dvin Music Hall are among major supporting partners of the festival which is being held under the patronage of the Yerevan Municipality.
Gold medal of the festival went to India's Kaushik Majumder for “Race” photo. Armenia’s representative Yesayi Durmuzyan won silver for his photo of Lake Sevan, and the third prize went to Mahbobeh Farajollahi from Iran.
Talking to reporters Artak Tovmasyan, President of the Tovmasyan Charity Foundation, noted that such kind of events give motivation to young Armenian photographers. He urged young people to be more active and to participate in more festivals, be it in Armenia or abroad.
“Our foundation is supporting not only cultural but also sport and science events, although I am more inclined to supporting culture and science,” he said..
Several special prizes were awarded by the National Assembly, the UAE Embassy in Armenia, Ijevan Wine Factory, Profal company and Photolure.
Markus Azaryan, Chief Business Development Officer at all.me, emphasized the importance of technologies for artists. He unveiled the advantages of all.me social media platform and added that the photographers can use it to spread their works worldwide and to develop their business.
