His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians today received outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Seyyed Kazem Sajjad.

The Supreme Patriarch expressed gratitude to the ambassador for his mission in Armenia, appreciated the ambassador’s cordial attitude towards Armenia, the Armenian people and the Armenian Church and touched upon the historic ties between the Iranians and Armenians, as well as the cooperation between the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Embassy of Iran.

Expressing gratitude for the appreciation, the Iranian ambassador presented the results of his four-year mission and his achievements.

During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians and the Iranian ambassador touched upon the leveling of moral and spiritual values and the dangers of undermining of the system of spiritual values. It was emphasized that only through reinforcement of moral and spiritual values will it be possible to resist all the trials and tribulations and make the world kinder, safer and more peaceful. They also talked about the spiritual life of the Armenians in Iran.

At the end of the meeting, His Holiness wished the ambassador more success in the future.
