YEREVAN. – Armenia needs to present itself to the world as an independent entity of international law that realizes its interests, is capable of defending them, and at the same time to pursue a balanced partnership policy.

Speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Ararat Mirzoyan, on Thursday said the aforementioned during the meeting—at the NA—with the participants of the annual conference of the heads of the General Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the heads of the country’s diplomatic missions abroad.

In his words, Armenia has already recorded and secured the guarantees for building a democratic country.

“The citizen of Armenia realizes that he is the sole holder of power in the country,” the NA speaker assured. “Dear colleagues, make use of the opportunity of being in Armenia these days, and interact with our fellow citizens on the streets; the citizens whom you represent now.

“The citizen of Armenia is free as never before, senses that power belongs to him more than ever, [he is] demanding as never before, and is self-confident as never before.”
