The positions of Tehran and Paris on the implementation of the nuclear deal have come closer, said the official representative of the Iranian government, RIA Novosti reported.

Over the past few weeks, serious negotiations have been held between the presidents of Iran and France, the representative added.

On August 31, leaders of the two countries, Hassan Rouhani and Emmanuel Macron, had phone talks during which the Iranian president said that the third phase of the reduction of nuclear obligations planned by Tehran in September will be reversible, as well as the previous stages.

Iran announced a reduction in the obligations of a deal concluded in 2015 after the US withdrew from the deal and restored sanctions against Tehran. European parties to the agreement are trying to save the deal.

In the past few months, Iran and France have maintained an active political dialogue, in particular, visits of the French President’s Advisor to Tehran, as well as a series of phone talks between the presidents of the two countries and the sides focused on the situation around the nuclear deal in light of Tehran’s reduction of its obligations under it, the parties also exchanged proposals aimed at implementing the agreement.
