Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif said that if European countries do not ensure compliance with the obligations of Iranian nuclear deal by September 5, Tehran will go to the third round of reduction of obligations, RIA Novosti reported.

We want the Europeans to fulfill their obligations, and in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution, they must do this, he said.

An official representative of the Iranian government, said on Monday that the Iranian authorities would wait until the last day for measures from the sides to the nuclear deal to complete it, and Tehran will make a decision in accordance with this. It is expected that measures will be announced on September 5.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Tehran could abandon the third phase of reducing its nuclear deal obligations, as reported by IRNA. In turn, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Abbas Mousavi said that if Tehran decides to proceed to the next stage of the reduction of obligations, they will be tougher than the previous ones.

Iranian and French leaders Hassan Rouhani and Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation on August 31, during which the Iranian president said that Tehran’s planned third phase of nuclear reduction in September would be reversible like the previous stages.

Iran announced a reduction in the obligations of a deal concluded in 2015 after the US withdrew from the agreement and restored sanctions against Tehran. European parties to the agreement are trying to save the deal.
