The US and Poland have signed a deal on cooperation in the field of new 5G technologies. US Vice President Mike Pence and Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki signed a deal in Warsaw, Reuters reported.

The signing takes place against the backdrop of a global battle between the US and the Chinese company Huawei, the world's largest manufacturer of equipment for network infrastructure.

The deal supports the principles developed by cybersecurity representatives from dozens of countries at the Prague summit earlier this year to counter threats and ensure the security of next-generation mobile networks.

“Important steps are being taken, some of which we may be able to announce in the next day or two, to develop a common approach to a 5G network security between our two countries to ensure a secure and vibrant 5G ecosystem,” the White House official said.

Pence said the deal will serve as an important example for the rest of Europe.
