News about the US government demanding that Armenia withdraws military group from Syria and the Russian government demanding that Armenia increase the number is inaccurate. This is what Armenia’s Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan told journalists today.

Based on this news, Davit Tonoyan said he was strongly against the possibility of withdrawing the military group during a discussion on the topic.

“There has not been a discussion on this topic. As far as the deployment of an Armenian mission in Syria is concerned, this was the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Armenia continues to provide humanitarian aid to Syria,” the minister said, adding that there is no problem with Armenia’s peacekeepers.
