The spokesperson for Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that Karabakh is Armenia.

Her remarks came in response to comment on Moscow’s stance as one of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to the statements.

According to her, Russia proceeds from the fact that there is an internal rhetoric, and there are those internal attitudes that reflect the views of political parties and movements - given that they are talking about a democratic state.

However, she noted, there is also a peace process with participants and international efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement.

“And, of course, we proceed from the fact that the statements of the parties should fit into the context of these common efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement,” she noted.

According to her, the process is complex, lengthy, but there is a common understanding of the need to move faster, and for this, statements must be appropriate and contributing to this main goal.
