Based on the assignment of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the Ministry of Environment has submitted a report on its conclusion regarding the need for conducting a new Environmental Impact Assessment for exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine. This is what Spokesperson of the Prime Minister of Armenia Vladimir Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Karapetyan added that the discussions continue and that a press release stating the results of the assessment will be presented.

Earlier, the Ministry of Environment had reported that it would submit its conclusion on the need for a new Environmental Impact Assessment for exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine to the Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia on September 4.

Prior to this, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had declared that the Staff of the Government had forwarded the conclusion of ELARD to the Ministry of Environment to clarify whether there are data according to which there is a need for a new Environmental Impact Assessment for exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine.
