Tourism growth over 7 months compared to last year amounted to 12.1%, chair of the State Committee on Tourism Susanna Safaryan told reporters on Thursday adding that the total increase in visits was 12.3%.

According to her, in the first seven months, the number of visitors amounted to 1 million 676 thousand people, and the number of tourists for the same period amounted to 770 thousand people.

The number of visits per year was 3.7 million, and the number of tourists was over 1.6 million, she said. The main tourist markets for Armenia traditionally remain countries where there are large Armenian communities. The largest tourist market is Germany. Many tourists visit Armenia also from Russia, Georgia, the US, Iran.
