An unusual incident occurred in Armavir Province of Armenia.
On Wednesday, at around 1:30pm, police received information that shots were fired in the administrative area of Arshaluys village, on the Armavir-Yerevan motorway, shamshyan.com reported.
Police found out that an argument had taken place there between Ararat Province resident of Koryun Kh., 30, and Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin) town resident Ara G., 26, about not yielding the road.
During the argument, Ara G. had fired shots toward Koryun Kh., with a pistol.
Koryun Kh. stated that Ara G. had attempted to fire two shots in his direction, but solely one shot was fired, and he had dodged the bullet.
Subsequently, Ara G. had left the scene without saying a word.
Several hours later, police found him and the car he was driving.
Ara G. was detained and taken to a police station where he handed over a gas pistol in his possession, and stated that it belonged to him.
A switchblade was also found in his possession.
Police are preparing a report on this incident.
Ara G. was released on a signature bond.
According to the source, he is the son of retired general and ex-MP Manvel Grigoryan, who is in custody on charges of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, appropriation of property, tax evasion, squandering of state resources, and organizing of property usurpation through extortion.
