The decision to hold a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in Yerevan on October 1 was made by consensus of all heads of member states, including Russian President, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters on Thursday.

Asked to comment on the fact that Putin had not yet confirmed his participation, the deputy minister noted: “People themselves decided whether to participate or not, this is not the case, he is not a guest…A conference will also be held, in which leaders of other countries will take part. Among them is Moldovan leader, the only country with observer status, Iranian president.”

According to him, Armenia has recently received a notification from Iran that Tehran has completed all the ratification processes, which means that the Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Iran will enter into force.

The Prime Minister of Singapore and the heads of the EAEU member states have been invited, he added.
