YEREVAN. – We are preparing for the summit to be held on October 1, to be attended by the leaders of the EAEU(Eurasian Economic Union) member states. Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said this at a press conference Friday, referring to the EAEU summit to be convened in capital city Yerevan.

Asked if it was officially confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will also visit Yerevan for this event, the FM replied as follows, in particular: “This is the united decision of us all. These are interstate relations. In this context, it’s the collective aspiration of the [member] states to work together within one unit to deepen integration processes in the EAEU. We make use of it, are preparing.

“It’s our [Armenia’s] commitment to organize the summit on October 1, and we await the leaders of all partner countries. Yes, we have confirmations. We don’t have any situation that I say an unusual situation has been created in terms of preparations for the summit. We are getting ready as normal. Less than a month is left, and now is the most active period when all the mechanisms start to work—from the protocol to content.”

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
