The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has submitted the bill on ratifying this year’s military cooperation agreement between Armenia and Lebanon to the National Assembly for consideration. This is what Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan declared during a parliamentary session today.

According to him, the agreement envisages a broad range of cooperation, starting from military production and ending with military sport. Research, support for logistics supply, military medicine and even peacekeeping activities are incorporated in the agreement. “This is a major document, taking into consideration the fact that an Armenian military subdivision is carrying out a peacekeeping mission under the mandate of the United Nations. The agreement also regulates certain issues related to peacekeeping,” Balayan clarified. The deputy minister voiced hope that ratification of the agreement can help raise the level of relations between Armenia and Lebanon in the military sector to a new level.
