The plan for exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine poses a threat to the entire Armenian nation. This is what resident of Jermuk town, veteran of the Nagorno-Karabakh war Rustam Aghajanyan declared during a meeting with the residents of Jermuk devoted to exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine.

Secretary of the Pan-Armenian National Solidarity Hrayr Avinyan reminded everyone that the Declaration of Independence of Armenia states that the water and the land shall pertain to the people. “As a land owner in Jermuk, I haven’t given my consent to exploitation of the gold mine. There is not even any talk about investments since Lydian hasn’t proved that there are no corrupt deals. My organization stands with the precious citizens of Jermuk,” Hrayr Avinyan emphasized.

This morning, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan went live on Facebook and announced about the absence of legal grounds to prohibit exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine. In response, residents of Jermuk town, who are directly at risk, agreed to hold a discussion meeting, and after the meeting, they will adopt a declaration.
