People can initiate a referendum to express a vote of no confidence in the government, and we will take it from there. This is what deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly Hovik Aghazaryan told journalists today, touching upon the issue of exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine.

“If the majority of the people lack confidence in the government based on the results of the referendum, there will be new snap elections during which our team will express the views that it had, and there will be teams that will declare that they are going to close the Amulsar gold mine. After that, the people will make their choice,” the deputy emphasized.

Aghazaryan is certain that the people will give their vote of confidence to the authorities in case of a referendum. “I get the impression that there is still a rather high level of public confidence in the authorities. Consequently, I don’t think our team will lose in the elections,” he emphasized.
