YEREVAN. – The parliamentary powers of Edgar Arakelyan, a deputy of the majority My Step faction at the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, have terminated.

NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan announced this at Thursday’s NA sitting, and noted that he has already sent the respective letter to the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission.

“We thank Edgar Arakelyan for the collaboration, and wish [him] success in [his] future activities,” Mirzoyan added.

As reported earlier, Edgar Arakelyan had announced about resigning from his parliamentary mandate.

The next MP candidate on the electoral list of the My Step bloc is Artur Manukyan, a member of the My Step faction at the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders, a director by profession, and a member of the ruling Civil Contract party.
