The Council of Elders of the city of Stepanakert of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has adopted a decision on declaring the Australian city of Ryde a sister city, as reported the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh. The decision of the Council of Elders expresses certainty that the establishment and expansion of the friendship between the two cities will contribute to the establishment and strengthening of friendly ties between the residents of Stepanakert and Ryde, as well as the establishment of partnership between Australia and the Republic of Artsakh.

The decision comes after the similar resolution of Ryde City Council that was unanimously adopted on July 23, a day before the working visit of the official delegation of the Republic of Artsakh led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Masis Mayilyan to Australia.
