The Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia and the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Russian Federation today held a joint session at the State Duma of the Russian Federation. This is what Chair of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Affairs Mikayel Melkumyan reported on his Facebook page.

Mikayel Melkumyan raised several issues that are important for the relations between Russia and Armenia. In particular, the Committees talked about the sale of weapons between member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and a member state that has problems with another member state, the obstacles facing citizens of the Republic of Armenia doing business with Armenian driver’s licenses in the territory of the Russian Federation, the expiry of the special time limit for cars that Armenia imports from third countries, the problems with lending to extend the resource of the Armenian nuclear power plant in Metsamor, the issue of Upper Lars and several other issues.

The two Committees signed a memorandum of cooperation at the end of the session.

During the visit, the delegation led by Mikayel Melkumyan was also received by Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Pyotr Tolstoy, and the parties discussed issues of mutual interest.
