Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Riga on an official visit, today met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics, as reported the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception, Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed confidence that his visit will make a great contribution to further development and strengthening of the traditionally established friendly ties between the two countries.

The counterparts exchanged views on the experience of both countries in information technologies, creative education and electronic governance.

Armenia’s foreign minister also touched upon the reforms underway in Armenia and set aside the judicial and legal reforms as an overriding direction.

Within the scope of the EU-Armenia cooperation, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan valued the role of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement in the expansion of the cooperation with the EU and EU member states and in the context of promoting the reforms launched in Armenia.

The parties exchanged views on global and regional issues. Minister Mnatsakanyan presented Armenia’s fundamental position on and approaches to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

At the end of the meeting, the foreign ministers gave a joint press conference.
