Bright Armenia party requires the Government to publish the names of business entities to which the financial resources stipulated by this bill should be returned, MP from Bright Armenia party opposition faction Mane Tandilyan.

According to her, she has information that one of these business entities is a company owned by the family of the brother of ex-President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. However, David Ananyan, chair of the State Revenue Committee, declined to provide data, citing the Bank Secrecy Act.

Bright Armenia Party faction head Edmon Marukyan sad the parliament cannot but know who these funds are being returned to.

“We will show consistency to get a list of these business entities. We will then invite the head of the SRC to the faction to receive this list. Those companies that at one time occupied a privileged position and a monopoly position should not receive them. It’s also about those people who are being prosecuted right now, ”he said.

According to legislative changes, the government is going to return about 2835 economic entities to AMD 56 billion 443 million of VAT overdue debts, 183 of them are large companies. According to the justification of the government, in this way, taxpayers will be repaid the debt formed before July 1, 2017, so that these funds are invested in the economy and contribute to its development.

The MPs unanimously voted 93 votes in favor.
