The Turkish Armed Forces that have launched an offensive in northern Syria and the opposition Free Syrian Army have taken control of the strategically important town of Ras al Ain, RIA Novosti reported citing the Turkish Ministry of Defense.

“Owing to successful military operations within the framework of the Peace Spring Operation east of the Euphrates, control has been established over the residential districts of the town of Ras al Ain,” the respective statement reads.
