An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 hit southern Iran on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

According to the source, many houses of the province are made of mud bricks and have been known to crumble easily under the impact of earthquakes. There were no reports of casualties or damage yet.

The shocks were recorded 56 kilometers from the city of Bandar Khamir. The center of the earthquake lies at a depth of 16 kilometers.
