The minimum salary for those who specialize in care and social rehabilitation services for persons with mental issues (including autism) will rise from January 1, 2020.

According to the Armenian government’s decision on Thursday, when developing a project by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the lack of services and specialists for people with mental health issues was taken into account, as well as the specifics of the work being done.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that it is important to know how many people will be affected by the decision.

“There must be predictability first, then accountability. Specify this and tell us exactly how many people this relates to,” he said.
