The Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China has announced that the US and China have to cancel certain tariffs at the same time so that the parties are able to launch the “first stage” of the trade deal, reports Reuters.

The ministry’s official representative Gao Fen declared that the two parties need to cancel the tariffs equally so that talks can begin and added that both parties have agreed to lift additional tariffs within two weeks.
