Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Sweden on a working visit, participated in the discussion entitled “Connecting the Eastern Partnership to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: How Should Resilience Be Addressed?” and hosted by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Touching upon the cooperation within the scope of the Eastern Partnership and the Sustainable Development, in this process, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan attached special importance to the sense of ownership of the State and government for reforms and stressed that Armenia views the Sustainable Development Goals and the Eastern Partnership as a major framework for international cooperation.

“We had many interesting discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals in New York. The Sustainable Development Goals are an extremely useful political framework in which each government, and in our case the Government of the Republic of Armenia promotes its capacities to bring this policy framework and these policy priorities into compliance with our reforms agenda.”

Touching upon the efforts that the incumbent Armenian government has made to build public confidence, Minister Mnatsakanyan stated that the velvet revolution was made possible through the capacities of institutional structures that are also linked to Sustainable Development Goal #16, as well as the priorities of the Eastern Partnership and rule of law.
