Positive changes in Armenia recorded in different areas of the economy will reach Artsakh as well, said Free Homeland party leader Arayik Harutyunyan on Sunday.

“There are already tangible changes. We see in what volumes and quality the construction is implemented by the Armenian government, what policy it is pursuing in the direction of raising salaries, and we are confident that this will also happen in Artsakh,” he said.

According to Arayik Harutyunyan, unprecedented growth rates are expected in terms of the development of the Armenian economy.

“When I announced 7% of economic growth a few months ago, many were not so sure, but today I declare that in 2020 the economic growth in Armenia will reach 8-9%, and in 2021 it will be a double-digit number,” he said adding that in parallel with the economic condition of Armenia, the economy of Artsakh should also develop.

According to him, the positive changes in Armenia will also affect the situation in Artsakh.

“We will do everything so that the conspirators stopping their progress remain on the political periphery. The so-called defenders of Artsakh from Armenia and the Armenian authorities today are engaged in serving someone’s interests and are an obstacle that we will eliminate in the near future,” he said.

Arayik Harutyunyan noted that the views of the Armenian authorities on the Artsakh issue settlement are identical to their own views.

“The status and security of the Artsakh people are priority for us. There is no question of any concessions in this regard,” he said, noting that the return of Artsakh to the negotiating table could be the most important guarantee for ensuring an effective settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
