Mexico authorities are ready to provide asylum to Bolivia president Evo Morales who announced his resignation on Sunday after ongoing post-election protest in his country.

“Mexico, in accordance with its tradition of asylum and non-intervention, has received 20 personalities from the Bolivian executive branch and legislature in the official residence in La Paz, and we also decided to offer asylum to Evo Morales,” Mexico’s Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard tweeted.

Marcelo Ebrard called for international solidarity to ensure inviolability of the Mexican Embassy and residence in Bolivia.

Ambassador of Venezuela to Bolivia Crisbeylee Gonzalez said anti-government protesters attacked the diplomatic mission of her country.
