Members of the youth organization of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) held a protest in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the demand for Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s resignation and had even brought an empty suitcase in which director of the RPA’s youth organization Hayk Mamijanyan had placed a letter stating the following:

“Mr. Mnatsakanyan, instead of making unsubstantiated statements and giving figurative descriptions of the former authorities of the Republic of Armenia abroad, be kind enough to perform your main duties. Several objectives in Armenia’s foreign policy agenda have become fatal during the years of your administration, and those objectives are the following:

Relieve yourself of overtly anti-Russian figures in the cabinet and so-called civil society organizations that are carrying out an anti-Russian policy under the patronage of Nikol Pashinyan. Reinstate the depth and content of the tactics of Russian-Armenian relations. Accelerate the ratification of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement. State the specific time limits for launch of dialogue over visa liberalization with the EU. Reestablish the past tradition of mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran and Georgia. Clearly state the principles under which the Government of Armenia is negotiating over the Artsakh issue and declare what your beloved term ‘status’ means in terms of the talks over Artsakh…Tell the people which stage the talks over the Artsakh issue are in. Why is the right of nations to self-determination — the most important part of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict — missing in the statements of the OSCE Minsk Gropu? Figuratively speaking, Mr. Minister, you are a failure.”

According to Mamijanyan, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan will need to return the suitcase to them in the near future.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan came out of the building and told Mamijanyan that she could only take the letter and that she would transmit it to the minister.
