All the hotbeds for terrorism are eliminated, and the only one remaining is in the Idlib region. This hotbed needs to be eliminated, and Turkey has to fulfill its obligation and distinguish between terrorists and the patriotic opposition. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov said during a meeting with students of Armenia dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Diplomatic School of Armenia at the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran) today.

According to him, the second hotbed is located on the east side of the Euphrates and it is there due to the unlawful presence of the US.

“Russia is cooperating with Turkey in Syria in order to prevent Iraq’s venture that led to the creation of ISIS and the events in Libya. There is a large flow of refugees traveling to Europe through Libya. Russia is working with Turkey and Iran to eliminate the threat of terrorism, and this requires not only military operations, but also resources, including international justice and persecution against terrorists. We also maintain ties with other participants in Syria, including the US with which we have sincere talks, including at the military level. Many players’ interests and practical actions clash in Syria. Today, the operations are targeted at the country’s integrity and sovereignty, not the country’s collapse,” he stated.
