YEREVAN. – When the draft law on amendments and additions to the Family Code was debated on at the National Assembly of Armenia today, a number of MPs from the majority My Step faction left the sessions’ hall.

When asked by reporters what the reason for leaving the hall was, various deputies gave contradictory answers.

First, MP Armen Khachatryan said there was nothing serious and they were discussing the recess matters, whereas secretary of the My Step faction, Hakob Simidyan, said there was no problem.

To the reporters' observation that loud voices were heard inside the sessions’ hall, MP Viktor Yengibaryan from the My Step faction said: “We finished voting, we came out, we are following [the debates] from the [faction’s] room. Nothing extraordinary happened, it's a working process."

All the deputies dismissed that there was shoving inside the sessions’ hall.
