YEREVAN. – The court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan continues to hear the case of ex-MP and retired General Manvel Grigoryan, and his wife, Nazik Amiryan. Grigoryan has come to court in a wheelchair, and he was greeted in the courtroom with applause and chants, "health to the commander."

The issue of detention of the accused is being discussed at today's hearing. Grigoryan is speaking with difficulty, and he is hooked up to an oxygen pipe. The defendant is accompanied by emergency doctors.

The court hearing on Manvel Grigoryan's case was adjourned at noon today as his attorneys reported that the doctors had allowed Grigoryan to attend the hearing, which the defendant agreed to. The defense added that there was a problem with the transferring because Grigoryan is hooked up to an IV. The court decided to adjourn the trial until 2pm to ensure Grigoryan's attendance.

Manvel Grigoryan is charged with illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, embezzlement of property, tax evasion, misuse of state funds, and setting up theft of property.

Nazik Amiryan is accused of illegally keeping ammunition and explosives in the three houses they own, as well as committing thefts.
