Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he was heavily criticized for “an unprecedented statement for Armenia” that the solution must acceptable to the people of Armenia, Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

“I was heavily criticized in my country. The opposition is asking ‘why the leader of Armenia has to take care of Azerbaijan?’ My frank answer is if he want to have sustainable solution, we need to consider the interests of all parties involved. I made statement in hope that we will hear similar statement from Azerbaijani leadership. A similar statement form Aliyev would mean that we have a breakthrough in the negotiation process,” he said during the Paris Peace Forum.

He called on Azerbaijani president from the Paris Peace Forum “at least to make such a statement”.

“Of course, it is not an easy task but if we took responsibility for the future of our peoples, it means we need to make real efforts, to make real difference,” he said.
