Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia Suren Papikyan today met with the delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia Michael Banzhaf, including Southeast and Eastern Europe and South Caucasus Representative of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany Karin Jahr de Guerrero, GIZ Office Armenia Country Director Anne Kempa, German KfW Bank Regional Director Klaus Feigel, KfW Bank Representative in Armenia Zara Chatinyan and Senior Project Coordinator of KfW Bank Bella Andreasyan, as reported the news service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia.

Greeting the members of the delegation, Minister Papikyan attached importance to the high level of political relations between Armenia and Germany, touched upon the process of administrative and territorial reforms in Armenia and highly appreciated the role of GIZ and other international organizations in the Good Local Governance Programme South Caucasus and the support that they provided for the growth of economic potential and capacity-building in communities.

In his turn, on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karin Jahr de Guerrero expressed gratitude for the reliable and effective cooperation and voiced hope that the programs hinged on mutually beneficial partnership would continue in the future as well.

Minister Papikyan also attached importance to the partnership with KfW Bank and emphasized that the Armenian government is guided by the principle of implementation of value-based activities for goal-oriented use of loans and improvement of infrastructures.

During the meeting, the parties discussed several issues of mutual interest that concerned water resource management and construction of reservoirs, as well as the development of energy infrastructures and regional energy projects.
