There have not been entries of AMD 454,700,000,000 in the state budget of Armenia, that is, almost USD 950,000,000. This amount could be entered into the state budget, if there were no tax privileges for this or that sector or for this or that activity. This is what Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan said as he responded to deputies’ questions during a discussion on the draft of the 2020 State Budget at the National Assembly today.

According to the minister, the Armenian government is going to gradually reduce the privileges since this approach is the least effective. At the same time, as Janjughazyan stated, the results of the tax and other privileges granted by the government in the past will be examined and analyzed as required. “We want to understand the extent to which the results are satisfactory and whether the government’s previously granted privileges can be combined or not,” Armenia’s finance minister said.
