After the statement that Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made about the production of the film “Mel” (devoted to weightlifter Meline Daluzyan), Hraparak Armenian newspaper asked General Secretary of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation Pashik Alaverdyan for clarification. “I don’t support Meline Daluzyan…I’m not going to live in Armenia. As an Armenian man, I’m ashamed of living in Armenia…We told Mel, please, dear girl, don’t do it, and she said I am the girl.”

Alaverdyan was in an outrage when he heard the last name Daluzyan and said the following: “Your Prime Minister said he supports her and if anyone doesn’t support her, he will throw them against the wall.” Alaverdyan testified that Daluzyan was disqualified because she had used doping. “Stanazanol is a drug and is referred to as a man’s hormone. I received a document from the International Olympic Committee stating that the girl had used a prohibited substance. After that, I haven’t had any contact with her. I don’t know her…She changed her name and last name, her homeland and godparents,” Pashik Alaverdyan said.
