Witnesses in the US House of Representatives has confirmed allegations of bribery against the US president, said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, CBS reported.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has accused the president of bribery in his dealings with Ukraine.

"The devastating testimony corroborated evidence of bribery," Pelosi said. "I am saying that what the President has admitted to and says 'it's perfect' -- I said it's perfectly wrong. It's bribery."

According to her, "the bribe is to grant or withhold military assistance in return for a public statement of a fake investigation into the elections. That's bribery."

Bribery, she noted, is "in the Constitution attached to the impeachment proceeding."

A political scandal in the US broke out following US President Donald Trump’s phone talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which took place on July 25. During the conversation, the head of the White House, according to media reports, tried to force Kyiv to launch an investigation into the potential rival of Trump in the November 2020 presidential election - Joe Biden, as well as his son Hunter.

Trump rejected the allegations of pressure. On September 24 Pelosi announced the preparation of the impeachment procedure of Donald Trump.
