Damascus is against Ankara’s initiative to return Syrian refugees to territories controlled by the Turkish army, since it considers this only a pretext for the re-settlement of militants with their families, Syrian President Bashar Assad said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, no one believes that Turkey wants to return three million Syrian refugees to the area. 

This is a humanitarian sign to create an illusion, he said adding that if she even wanted to do this, then this is absurd, because such events will lead to a conflict between land owners, people living in local cities and villages, owners of real estate and agricultural land and new settlers, because legal residents of these areas will not give up their rights in relation to their territories.
According to him, this means that such a conflict will have an ethnic character.

The main goal of the Turks is to bring to these lands terrorists who acted on the Syrian territory and were defeated, together with their families, so that they form a new radicalized society, he said.
