Former President of the Public Council of Armenia Vazgen Manukyan will reinstate his National Democratic Union political party, hold a congress and return to the political field in the spring. This is what he told journalists today.

Manukyan stated that he had sent invitations to the My Step and Bright Armenia factions of the National Assembly to participate in the “Vernatun” public-political club’s meeting.

Today “Vernatun” public-political club is holding a meeting in Yerevan and will discuss the following current public and political issues:

- The talks over settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are entering into a deadlock, increasing the risk of war (what should be done?),

- The current level of split of the society poses a threat to national security (how should it be overcome?)

- The judiciary and the Constitutional Court are exposed to brutal repression, an attempt is being made to extend the personal power over the legislative and executive powers to the judicial power, but this is against the principles of a legal-democratic state (what should be done to disallow this?).

Members of political parties, civil society representatives and representatives of expert circles have been officially invited to the conference.
