YEREVAN. – The protocols signed with Georgia and Iran are intended to facilitate border control in terms of exchange of information between customs authorities. Armenia State Revenue Committee (SRC) Chairman Davit Ananyan told this to journalists today.

"As soon as the customs authority of one country has the preliminary information on the cargo, it immediately sends it to the customs authority of the other country for easier border control," he said. "What was signed today was within the framework of the actions of an agreement signed between the two countries years ago. This will be an interstate cooperation and a legal obligation between the two countries."

According to the SRC Chairman, the agreements signed with Iran and Georgia have the same content.

He added that a memorandum of intent on the use of electronic locks or electronic seals on cargo was signed with Georgian counterparts.
