Sheikha Moza is very modern. She has a vision for not only her country, but also for all mankind. This is what President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian told journalists following his meeting with Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al Missned as part of his official visit to Qatar today.

“The Sheikha and I reached a fundamental and very interesting agreement to set up a task force that will explore the areas for possible cooperation, including exchange of students, joint research, etc. Our vision is to turn Armenia into a center for science, education and culture. The Qatari are doing the same here, and so our cooperation is logical,” he said.

Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al Missned is the second wife of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar and is a public and political figure. She considers turning Qatar into a modern and leading country her major goal and shows active participation in the public and political life of the country and region to achieve that goal. She is the author of the idea of turning Qatar in the new Silicon Valley. For this purpose, the Science and Technology Park was established and opened in late 2008 in Qatar. She is also considered the author and implementer of the “Educational City” idea in Qatar. The Sheikha also actively encourages the operation of the prestigious Al-Jazeera Arab-language medium.
