The interconnection of customs services of regional countries is very important, since it is a kind of blood vein for their development. It has even greater efficiency in terms of the digital agenda, especially for landlocked Armenia, said Dmitry Maryasin, Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Armenia.

His remarks came on Monday at the international conference on digital solutions for cross-border cooperation and trade facilitation.

According to him, the introduction of digital technologies can bring as much benefit as the introduction of any element of the physical infrastructure.

He recalled that all three customs points (Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan) on the border with Georgia were modernized with the support of the EU and the UN Development Program and serve the development of the region.
