The European Union is ready to sign an agreement on simplifying the visa regime with Belarus. The relevant decision of the Council of the European Union was published in the Official Journal of the European Union today and is already in effect.

The security and integrity of the Belarusian system of issuance of biometric passports need to be assessed in order for the procedure to be fully complete, the document reads, reports DW.
