YEREVAN. – As of January 1, 2020, the state will reimburse the payments of people occupying social housing. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Gemafin Gasparyan on November 19, at the sitting of the National Assembly during the discussion of the bill "On targeted social assistance to the lonely pensioners living in the social housing fund."

According to him, the need arose because these pensioners were given only apartments, and they had to solve their other problems and issues at the expense of their pensions. "Those funds are not enough for them," Gasparyan said, adding that there are 59 such lone pensioners.

The deputy minister mentioned that the total amount of payments will make about 8.5 million drams annually. "That is to say, 144 thousand drams will be envisioned per person per year," Gasparyan concluded.
