On November 19, the Public Council of Armenia held a special session.

The main issue on the agenda was the situation created in the Council as a result of the resignation of its chairman, Vazgen Manukyan, and the future activities of the Council.

The "negative atmosphere being provoked" around the Public Council was also discussed. Council members considered certain authorities’ inappropriate attitude toward and public speeches on the activities of the council to inadmissible.

Members of the Public Council believe that for the Council to collaborate effectively with the Government as well as with other bodies of the State, it is necessary to at least ensure mutual respect and constructive atmosphere.

It was decided to set up a working group that will organize the upcoming work of the council in the current situation and formulate agenda items for the sessions.
