Bright Armenia party MPs, who conceptually share the idea of fighting a criminal subculture, but abstain in voting on the proposed bill, exhibit behavior incomprehensible to everyone, My Step bloc MP Maria Karapetyan told at the Armenian parliament on Wednesday.
According to her, colleagues from Bright Armenia party could vote in favor and then submit proposals before the second reading.
“If the proposals were not accepted, then they could vote ‘against’. In addition, I heard from representatives of the Prosperous Armenia Party that only specific offenses should be punishable. Now the question is: is there any gambling in the army and penitentiary institutions of the republic for money - is this a concrete act or not?” Karapetyan wonders.
