Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Kishan Dan Deval, reports the official website of Yerevan Municipality.

Congratulating the guest on assuming his diplomatic mission in Armenia, Mayor Marutyan expressed willingness to contribute to the deepening and expansion of the relations between Yerevan and India’s cities.

In his turn, Ambassador Kishan Dan Deval highlighted the rich history of Indian-Armenian relations and recommended deepening the relations in specific directions in the cities of India that are populated by Armenians and where there is Armenian heritage.

The interlocutors also considered the idea of placing a statue of India’s national hero Mahatma Gandhi in Yerevan.
