Georgian press reported that Hayastan Shakaryan damaged cable connecting Armenia to the global network.

An old woman from Georgia denies any accusation. “Look at me, could I damage a cable in a gorge?” 75 years old woman said.

It is not the first time that Armenia’s internet is cut off due to damages in Georgia. However, Armenian experts doubt that old woman could damage the cable. They are confident Armenia has to seek for alternative sources. In fact only several cables pass through Georgia’s territory, another one comes from Iran. The experts wonder why Armenia should depend on one source only.

Georgian Internal Ministry said the woman was looking for copper near the village of Ksani on March 28 and damaged fiber optic cable owned by Georgian Railway Telecom company.

Cable owned by Georgian Railway Telecom connects eastern Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan to the Internet.
